Topic outline

  • Welcome to this train-the-trainer course which will give you an overview of the main functionalities of the EOSC Portal and get you ready to deliver training to your user communities. This course is intended for trainers who will include EOSC subjects in their training, and especially those who work with researchers. However, the course is disciplinarily agnostic and applicable to trainers working with a range of stakeholder groups and has been adapted from a synchronous workshop that was originally run on 21st-24th November 2022 as part of the EOSC Future project training programme.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

    • Describe the types of information and resources available on the EOSC Portal.
    • Demonstrate to trainees the main functions of the EOSC Marketplace.
    • Explain how to make resources available on the EOSC Marketplace.
    • Recommend resources relevant for individuals and institutions seeking to engage with the EOSC Portal

    Course structure

The content within the course will take you no longer than an hour to work through. For each section we have provided a range of supporting resources that you can use to broaden your knowledge of the EOSC Portal.

The course starts with the explanation of the key concepts and terms and an overview of the development of the EOSC Portal. Then it presents a brief overview of the main content blocks, before focusing on the interface and functionalities of the EOSC Marketplace. It also briefly explains how to make resources available in the EOSC Marketplace through the process called 'onboarding'. Finally, we will demonstrate how to effectively use use cases as examples in your training.
