This assignment invites you to develop your own study case, applying project-based learning to explore real-world scenarios in Open Science and Responsible Research & Innovation (RRI). You will identify or design a project scenario, describe challenges and solutions, and map your experience to transferable skills from the 8 thematic areas of the PATTERN project.

The activity is grounded in adult learning principles and encourages meaningful, relevant, and personalized learning. Your contribution will help build a repository of reusable learning cases, foster peer-to-peer learning, and deepen your own understanding of complex, real-world problems in the field of Open Science and RRI.

This exercise:

  • Supports experiential learning, reflection, and integration of skills

  • Builds your competency portfolio

  • Links your work to thematic areas such as FAIR RDM, Gender in Research, Mental Health, Science Communication, and more
