Registered Reports are a publication format in which the research question and the quality of methodology are peer reviewed before the data are collected and analysed.

Usually provide feedback on:

  • The importance of the area of study / research question
  • The soundness of the research questions
  • The quality / rigor of the proposed methodology

The benefits:

  • reduction in research bias
  • increased transparency and reproducibility
  • reduction in research waste
