RDM introduction

RDMkit (by Elixir-Europe)

The ELIXIR Research Data Management Kit (RDMkit) has been designed to guide life scientists in their efforts to better manage their research data following the FAIR Principles. RDMkit is recommended in the Horizon Europe Program Guide as the "resource for Data Management guidelines and good practices for the Life Sciences."

CESSDA - Data Management Expert Guide (DMEG)

The DMEG is designed by European experts to help social science researchers make their research data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR).

DARIAH Research Data Management Working Group

The DARIAH Research Data Management Working Group aims to tackle challenges of sharing knowledge, research outputs and other scholarly resources in ways that are tuned for long-term availability and maximal value, use and reuse for arts and humanities researchers

Research Data Management and Sharing

Excellent MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on Coursera offered by The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The University of Edinburgh. Recommended for introduction to RDM.

RDA Metadata Standards Directory Working Group

The RDA Metadata Standards Directory (MASDIR) Working Group with a goal to develop a collaborative, open directory of metadata standards applicable to scientific data.

Digital curation centre (DCC) - Disciplinary Metadata

This page provides links to information about disciplinary metadata standards, including profiles, tools to implement the standards, and use cases of data repositories currently implementing them.

FAIRsharing.org

informative and educational resource on data and metadata standards, data policies and databases, combined with an integrated view across all three types of resource.

FAIR principles

Resources for learning FAIR principles.

GO FAIR is a bottom-up, stakeholder-driven and self-governed initiative that aims to implement the FAIR data principles, making data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR). It offers an open and inclusive ecosystem for individuals, institutions and organisations working together through Implementation Networks (INs). The INs are active in three activity pillars: GO CHANGE, GO TRAIN and GO BUILD.

OpenAIRE on RDM, FAIR and more

This website will take you on a deep dive into the subject matter of FAIR research data.

FAIR assessment tools

DMP tools

Argos by OpenAIRE
Argos can help create DMPs that are machine-actionable and shared easily in the repository.

DMPOnline by DCC
DMPonline is a web-based tool that supports researchers to develop data management plans. It contains the latest funder templates and best practice guidelines to support users to create good-quality data management plans (DMPs).

Researchers are truly guided through composing a DMP which can be then exported using a selected template and format, including machine-actionable. The benefit lies not only in having a nowadays often obligatory DMP for funders but mainly learning how to handle data correctly, make them FAIR, maintain them well during the project, and curate them long-term.

The Practical Guide to the International Alignment of Research Data Management, created by the organization Science Europe, contains detailed guidance for drafting and evaluating DMPs.
